David Šebesta’s work is rooted in traditional hand-crafted jewellery making and a strong emphasis on material. At the centre of his practice is silver itself — its natural properties, texture and ability to retain traces of the making process. Each piece is created with a focus on the individuality of the final object. A characteristic feature is the contrast between the rawness of the material and the delicacy of jewellery, where rough surfaces and irregular forms meet the subtle expression of the finished piece. His inspiration comes from a fascination with natural structures found in wood and stone, as well as erosion and the transformation of materials over time.
