Anastasia Mazur

Multidisciplinary designer and artist Anastasia Mazur connects traditional crafts, local culture and contemporary expression in her work. Often operating at the intersection of applied and fine art, she uses material as a way of exploring new forms of cultural memory. As part of the New Generation exhibition, she presents a collection of hand-woven mirrors based on traditional basketry techniques. Minimalist forms and organically shaped frames highlight both the structure of the handwork and the natural character of the material, resulting in objects that combine function with a more sculptural expression in a dialogue between landscape, craft and the present.
