Filip Ložinský is a recent graduate of the Glass Studio at UMPRUM in Prague. His practice has long focused on material experimentation and on exploring the relationship between natural processes, craftsmanship and the physical properties of glass. He is particularly interested in the transformation of material itself and in ways of translating natural phenomena into the creative process. In the project MARGO, he works with erosion as a form-generating principle, transferring it into glass through sandblasting, mechanical wear, impact and scratching. The result is a series of glass segments in which erosion does not destroy the material, but instead reveals its properties and natural responses.
