František Jungvirt

František Jungvirt is one of the prominent figures of the younger generation of Czech glass. In his work, he combines traditional glassmaking craftsmanship with a contemporary artistic language, moving between design, fine art and collectible objects. At the New Generation exhibition, he presents FARMER from the TOMÁŠ ŽEMLA OBJECTS series, created in response to the landscapes of painter Tomáš Žemla. The hand-blown, deliberately deformed glass object in earthy tones is complemented by authentic objects and personal references that evoke the Czech countryside, its traditions and ways of life.
