Kateřina Handlová

Kateřina Handlová is a Czech designer and recipient of the Designer of the Year 2024 award at the Czech Grand Design Awards. In her independent practice, she works primarily with glass, combining it with other materials and using traditional glassmaking techniques to develop a contemporary artistic language. Symbolism, emotion and the story behind each object play an important role in her work. Since 2022, she has also served as creative director of the Rückl glassworks. At the New Generation exhibition, she presents her own objects Sevření a pouto and Na hranici, as well as the Monumenta and Icona vases from the Metropolis collection designed for Rückl.
